Mozart’s concertos are not always perceived as a body of works in the same way as those of Beethoven are. Moreover there are many whose first experience of a Mozart concerto takes place only after having got to know earlier the immense power of Beethoven and their first reaction is that in comparison it seems lightweight. How much can one better appreciate the works of both masters if one had got to know them in chronological order. Getting to know the Mozart oeuvres involves remembering which century he occupied and familiarizing oneself with one major masterpiece after another.
